My services help families get the most out of their education.
For all students, I help discern interests and gifts. These help guide our decisions regarding what classes would best help them develop their interests, as well as their current school curriculum allows. We talk about how to spend free time, focusing on activities that let them explore the world and lead them to discover their callings. We translate all this work into college selections, and develop applications for admission that clearly highlight their strengths and their goals for college and life. These services generally fall under my "College Selection" services.
For students who are struggling with school, I additionally help discern institutional obstacles. We determine which issues are best handled by the student (with his family and medical team), and which issues require changes in school expectations. Sometimes this simply involves determining a better mix of coursework. Other times, this requires accommodations to help the student manage physical or emotional issues. And yet other issues, may require special services to provide additional professional support to the student throughout their school day. Our goal is to help the student learn to take control of their learning, making adjustments and tweaking institutional expectations, so that they develop the skills they need to be successful in school, college, and life. These services generally fall under my "School Accommodations" services.
